Kia Seltos, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Maruti XL6 And BMW 3 Series Set To Launch Next Week

Despite the slump in the auto industry, carmaker are set to launch new models in the next seven days

It’s no secret that the Indian auto industry has been going through a slowdown lately. Economic conditions and new regulations have resulted in lesser people opting for new cars. However, this hasn’t stopped carmakers from bringing in new models to the market, with multiple carmakers making their debut in the Indian market this year. In fact, we have four high profile launches scheduled for next week itself. Let’s take a look at them:

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios

Launch Date - August 20

Expected Price Range - Rs 5.2 lakh to Rs 8 lakh

The Grand i10 Nios is all set to be the Grand i10’s successor. It will be the third-gen model in the i10 family and will offer a premium experience in the mid-size hatchback space. The Grand i10 Nios will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options. What’s more, both engines will be available with an AMT this time around. It will be available in five different variants - Era, Magna, Sportz, Sportz Dual Tone and Asta. The second-gen Grand i10 will continue to remain on sale once the Grand i10 Nios is launched in India.

Maruti Suzuki XL6

Launch Date - August 21

Expected Price Range - Rs 9.5 lakh to Rs 11 lakh

The XL6 will be Maruti’s first premium MPV in the country that will be sold through its Nexa outlets. It is based on the Ertiga that is sold through Maruti Suzuki’s Arena dealerships and will only be available with a petrol engine. The XL6 will feature all-around LED lighting and a premium cabin featuring leatherette upholstery. It will be a six-seater model featuring captain seats in the second row. The XL6 will be available in two variants – Zeta and Alpha – which will presumably be based on the top two variants of the Ertiga, albeit with additional features. Furthermore, both variants will be available with manual and automatic transmissions options.

BMW 3 Series

Launch Date - August 21

Expected Price Range - Rs 35 lakh to Rs 45 lakh

The 3 Series is set to get a generation change in India next week. The German carmaker has started accepting bookings for the new model on its website and images on the internet suggest that the new 3 Series has begun arriving in showrooms all over India. It will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options and is based on the CLAR (Cluster Architecture) platform that also underpins the 5 Series and 7 Series sedans. The new 3 Series will also feature better features than the outgoing model.

Kia Seltos

Launch Date - August 22

Expected Price Range - Rs 10 lakh to Rs 17 lakh

It is not just the launch of a car but the launch of a brand in India. The Seltos will be Kia’s first product for the Indian market and it has a lot riding on its shoulders. The Seltos is expected to be launched with at a cutthroat price. On top of that, there are so many powertrain combos that buyers will be spoilt for choice. The Seltos is loaded to the brim in terms of features and it is hard to find something that the competition offers and is not present in the Seltos. The Seltos will kick things off for Kia in India come August 22.
