Kia Carnival Exterior Comparison: Old vs New (Fourth-Gen MPV Facelift)

The new Kia Carnival is a big departure from the outgoing version, thanks to its bolder and sharper design elements

While we wait for the fourth-generation Kia Carnival to reach our shores, the MPV has already received its midlife refresh in its home country. The carmaker has only revealed the updated exterior of the premium MPV, while interior and other details are expected to be out in November. Our only close glimpse at the current-generation Carnival was at the Auto Expo in early 2023. In this story, let’s check out how its exterior design has evolved with the facelift:

Front

Most of the changes with the facelift have happened to the MPV’s fascia. With the refresh, the new Carnival sports a revised grille with chrome embellishments, vertically stacked 4-piece LED headlights, and sharper LED DRLs. The carmaker has also tweaked the bumper, which now has updated fog lamps while still housing the radar for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Side

From the sides, the only noticeable difference is the fresh set of alloy wheels, which seem more aerodynamically designed. There’s also a Gravity trim which has been introduced that gets design differences over the standard model. This includes a fresh styling for the black grille, black ORVMs, and a different alloy wheel design of concentric rings.

Rear

At the back, the Carnival now gets a redesigned tailgate, featuring vertically stacked LED taillights – running up to the Kia logo in the centre – mimicking the LED DRLs up front. A revised skid plate and chunky bumper round off the design updates for the MPV’s rear. Here too, the facelifted MPV looks sharper than its predecessor.

India Launch And Price

2024 Kia Carnival Gravity trim

We believe the facelifted fourth-gen Kia Carnival could come to India sometime in 2024, with prices likely to start at Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom). While it won’t have any direct rivals, it will be placed higher than the Toyota Innova Hycross in the Indian MPV segment.
