The compact SUV segment grew by almost 37 per cent compared to August 2022 sales
In September, the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos were once again ranked at the top of the compact SUV segment. The two continue to have the highest sales numbers in this space.

Hyundai Creta continues to be the most popular model in the space with sales of over 12,800 units. The month-over-month (MoM) growth is a little over two per cent, but it has lost some of its market share to the new contenders.

Kia Seltos crossed the 10,000 units mark and witnessed a MoM growth of over 27 per cent when compared to August.

The newly launched Maruti Grand Vitara registered over 4,500 unit sales and has acquired a market share of over 10 per cent. It replaces the S-Cross in the Maruti lineup which has now been officially discontinued.

The Skoda Kushaq showed signs of sales recovery with an 18 per cent MoM growth and over 2,000 units sold.

Volkswagen Taigun almost doubled its sales compared to August 2022 with MoM growth of over 95 per cent, but the tally still remains below the 2,000 mark.

Toyota Hyryder, the Grand Vitara’s twin, has not made a similarly strong entry with first-month sales of 1,163 units.

Sales of MG Astor have dropped to triple digits and it becomes the only compact SUV to not post a MoM growth this September.

The Nissan Kicks witnessed a MoM growth of around 20 per cent, once again crossing into triple digits with sales of 108 units. It is currently positioned last with less than one per cent market share.
