Hyundai Aura Gets AMT In Lower-spec S Variant Now, Making It More Accessible By Rs 87,000

The Hyundai Aura sub-4 metre sedan has been updated with a new S AMT variant, priced at Rs 8.08 lakh (ex-showroom). The Aura is available in a total of six variants: E, S, Corporate, SX, SX Plus and SX(O). Previously, only the SX Plus variant came with an automated manual transmission option. With this update, the AMT has now become more affordable for Aura buyers. Here’s a detailed look at the new variant:

As seen in the table, the S AMT variant undercuts the SX Plus AMT by Rs 87,000. That said, these are the only two variants in the Aura’s lineup to get this transmission option.

The Hyundai Aura gets a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine as well as an optional CNG kit. The specifications are as follows.

It must be noted that the AMT option is not available with the CNG option in both the S and SX Plus variants.
Other Features & Safety
The Hyundai Aura S AMT will carry ahead all the features offered with the S manual variant, like analogue dials for the instrument cluster with a multi-information display (MID), keyless entry, manual AC with rear vents, footwell lighting, and rear centre armrest with cupholders. Features like 8-inch infotainment, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, auto AC, cruise control and wireless phone charger are reserved for the higher variants.
On the safety front, the Aura S AMT comes equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.
Rivals
The Hyundai Aura stands as an alternative to other sub-compact sedans like the Maruti Dzire, Tata Tigor and Honda Amaze.
