    Honda Accord Might be Discontinued

After the Honda Civic now it seems it is Honda Accord’s turn to bid adieu to the Indian market. The speculations have been here for long and now are just getting stronger by the day. Sources have confirmed that the Accord will continue to sell in a volume-controlled manner and as already reported, the Civic will be phased out of the market by the end of this year, sometime around December this year.

Honda has unveiled the 2013 Accord and since the car comes in as a CBU unit, the latest version will be even more expensive than the prevailing one. Speculations are the company sees no sense in bringing the new and more expensive car especially in the petrol version and therefore are planning to cut the production completely. The European market has the diesel Accord but those engines are not suitable for India. However, the company is working on developing diesel options of their products specifically for Indian markets and probably by the end of this year we will see the Honda Brio diesel version which will be their first diesel venture here.

Presently Honda has the Accord in the price range of Rs. 20.28 Lakh – Rs. 27.37 Lakh. Honda Accord comes with a 2354cc petrol engine available with manual or automatic transmission whereas 3471cc V6 petrol mill mated to an automatic transmission.
