Here’s How The New Flash Red Colour On The Volkswagen Virtus Looks In Real-life Images

The Volkswagen Virtus was recently updated with a new Flash Red exterior shade that is being offered with the GT Line variant available with the 1-litre turbo-petrol engine. Do note that it is the same red shade which was popular with the Volkswagen Polo. Now, some units of the updated compact sedan with the new colour option have reached dealerships. Do note that this hue is available only for a limited time, so we suggest you to be quick if you have your eyes on one. Let’s check out how this new shade of the Volkswagen sedan looks in real-life.

Front

The new Flash Red shade looks brighter and more vivid compared to the Wild Cherry Red shade of the Virtus. Since it’s based on the GT Line variant, the grille and bumper have been completely blacked out, adding a nice contrast to the overall design. 

The LED projector headlights feature a smoked out finish for a dapper look. Other elements like the L-shaped LED DRLs and halogen fog lights with cornering function, remain unchanged.

Side

The Virtus GT Line gets blacked-out ORVMs, dark chrome finish on door handles, and blacked-out 16-inch alloy wheels. Like the front, the side profile with this red colour looks sportier because of the contrast. Two black ‘GT Line’ badges have also been provided on both the front doors. 

Rear

At the rear, it features smoked LED tail lights, while all the monikers on the tailgate get a black finish. The lower part of the bumper also features a dark chrome treatment, which is finished in regular chrome on other variants. Moreover, the roof and shark fin antenna have also been blacked out.

Interior

No further changes have been made to the interior theme of the Virtus GT Line with the Flash Red exterior shade. It gets an all-black interior theme along with black fabric seat upholstery. Being a GT Line variant, it gets red ambient lighting on the dashboard, while the digital driver’s display also adopts a red theme instead of the blue theme seen on the regular 1-litre variants. It also comes with metallic pedals for a racier feel. 

Since the 1-litre GT Line variant of the Virtus is based on the Highline Plus variant, it comes with amenities like a 10.1-inch touchscreen, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, cruise control, wireless phone charger, auto-dimming inside rear view mirror (IRVM), auto AC, and a single-pane sunroof. It misses out on leatherette seat upholstery, ventilated and powered front seats which are available with the Topline variant. 

Its safety kit includes 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking camera along with rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and electronic stability control (ESC). 

Engine And Transmission

The GT Line variant of the Volkswagen Virtus comes with a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine. The detailed specifications are as follows: 

AT - Torque converter automatic transmission

The Virtus also comes with an optional 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine which makes 150 PS and 250 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DCT (dual clutch automatic transmission). 

Price Range And Rivals

The Virtus 1-litre GT Line is priced between Rs 14.08 lakh and Rs 15.18 lakh, while prices of the other variants range from Rs 11.56 lakh to Rs 19.40 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom pan-India). It rivals the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, and the Skoda Slavia.
