Chevrolet Spin MPV to be showcased at Auto Expo 2016

Chevrolet India will showcase its all-new MPV, ‘Spin’ at the upcoming Auto Expo. It will most likely be powered by a Fiat sourced 1.3-litre multijet diesel engine with an output of around 90 PS and 200Nm of torque and will be most likely be mated to five-speed manual transmission. The petrol variant might get an automatic transmission as well and we expect the pricing to start from Rs. 7 Lacs

Chevrolet Spin Front View

Chevrolet will be showcasing its all-new offering, 'Spin' in the MPV segment at the upcoming Auto Expo. Spin will compete with Honda Mobilio and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga in the MPV segment. Chevrolet’s existing MPV, ‘Enjoy’ has been doing well majorly in the taxi sector and the Spin is expected to be branded as a premium MPV. We caught the Spin testing last year in India. Have a look:

We expect a Fiat sourced 1.3-litre multijet diesel engine in the Spin having an output of around 90 PS and 200Nm of torque and is most likely to be mated to five-speed manual transmission. The petrol variant might get an automatic transmission as well and we expect the pricing to start from Rs. 7 Lacs.

At a press conference last year, Chevrolet India announced Rs 6,660 crore investment for our market in the coming years and the first car to be built in India with this fresh infusion of funds is the Spin MPV. It is highly expected that Chevrolet will bring in the upgraded Cruze to the auto Expo along with the Camaro, Corvette. To make the experience more interactive for the consumers, the company will showcase interactive applications like Oculus Rift Virtual Experience at the expo.

Commenting on the company's plans for the event, GM India President and MD Kaher Kazem said that visitors to the 2016 Auto Expo will see a completely new Chevrolet. “Our presence at this year's event will be highlighted by some Chevrolet product reveals that will mirror the aspirations of Indian consumers and compete in the most vital segments of the Indian vehicle market," he added.
