    April saw the launch of blacked-out editions, model year updates, new-gen SUVs, and a special edition of a two-door roadster with a manual gearbox choice

    Most of the launches in April were updates to existing models to keep them fresh. However, a couple of new premium SUVs also made their debut in India, which were highly awaited by buyers. We also saw a special edition of the BMW Z4, which will surely attract car enthusiasts. With that in mind, let’s take a look at all the cars launched in India in April 2025.

    Tata Motors launched the Dark Editions of the Curvv and Curvv EV. The Curvv Dark Edition is available in two variants, Accomplished S and Accomplished Plus A, while the Curvv EV is offered in a single Empowered Plus A variant. The exterior of both models features blacked-out styling, including an all-black paint shade and Dark badging to make them stand apart from the standard models. The interiors of both cars stand out with an all-black colour scheme, but no new features have been added with these Dark Editions. The Dark Editions of both Curvv and Curvv EV command a price premium of up to Rs 32,000 over their standard variants.

    C3 Dark Edition Price: Rs 8.38 lakh to Rs 10.19 lakh (ex-showroom)

    Aircross Dark Edition Price: Rs 13.13 lakh to Rs 14.27 lakh  (ex-showroom)

    Basalt Dark Edition Price: Rs 12.8 lakh to Rs 14.1 lakh (ex-showroom)

    Like its rivals, Citroen has also introduced Dark Editions across its lineup. These include the C3 hatchback, Aircross SUV, and Basalt SUV-coupe. Notably, the Dark Editions of all three models will be available for a limited time only. Each of them features an all-black exterior with dark chrome elements to make them stand out. Inside, the Dark Editions come with an all-black interior theme complemented by red accents, while the overall feature list remains unchanged. You can read more about each model in detail here.

    2025 Maruti Grand Vitara

    Price: Rs 11.42 lakh to Rs 20.68 lakh (ex-showroom)

    The Maruti Grand Vitara received a model year (MY) update that brought a couple of feature additions, along with making the panoramic sunroof more accessible. New features include an 8-way powered driver's seat, an air purifier, sunshades for rear-row passengers, and an electronic parking brake (only with automatic transmission). Additionally, the 2025 Grand Vitara now comes with six airbags as standard, while the all-wheel-drive variants are now offered only with an automatic gearbox choice.

    2025 Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder

    Price: Rs 11.34 lakh to Rs 20.19 lakh (ex-showroom)

    Toyota gave model year updates to the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, which are similar to those of the Grand Vitara, its rebadged version. It now comes equipped with six airbags as standard, while new features include rear sunshades, a powered driver's seat, and an air purifier with an AQI display. Although the powertrain options remain the same, the all-wheel-drive variants of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder are now offered only with an automatic transmission option.

    Price: Rs 46.89 lakh to Rs 48.69 lakh (ex-showroom)

    Skoda debuted the new-generation Kodiaq, priced from Rs 46.89 lakh (ex-showroom). It features refreshed styling with sleek lighting elements and a sportier appearance. Inside, the cabin layout has been heavily revamped and now includes a larger 12.9-inch infotainment system, ventilated and massaging front-row seats, and a 13-speaker Canton sound system. The 2025 Kodiaq is powered by a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 204 PS and 320 Nm, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).

    The new-generation Tiguan made its debut in the first half of April, in its performance oriented R-Line form. It is offered as a completely built-up unit (CBU), and showcases sporty design elements that set it apart from the standard model. These include blacked-out elements along the exterior, with 'R' badging, while the cabin features an all-black theme with blue accents. Feature highlights include a 15-inch infotainment system, dual wireless phone chargers, a panoramic sunroof, and massaging front-row seats. Under the hood, the Tiguan R-Line is powered by a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 204 PS and 320 Nm, paired with a 7-speed DCT.

    Price: Rs 41 lakh to Rs 53.15 lakh (ex-showroom)

    BYD launched the 2025 Seal with a starting price of Rs 41 lakh (ex-showroom), which is a price hike of up to Rs 15,000. With the 2025 Seal, the biggest changes include a powered rear sunshades, an updated climate control system with a larger compressor and an air purification module and the addition of wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard. It also gets a new DiSus-C suspension system, which adjusts the dampers in real-time to improve comfort and stability. Other than that, the powertrain and battery pack options remain the same.

    2025 Range Rover Evoque Autobiography

    Price: Rs 69.5 lakh (ex-showroom)

    Range Rover launched the Evoque Autobiography at Rs 69.50 lakh (ex-showroom). This is for the first time that the Evoque gets an Autobiography treatment and it replaces the older Dynamic SE variant. The Evoque Autobiography gets styling updates inside and out, giving it a more upscale and luxurious appearance. It is offered with two engine options: a 250 PS 2-litre turbo-petrol and a 204 PS 2-litre diesel, both coupled with mild-hybrid technology.

    BMW Z4 Pure Impulse Edition

    Price: Rs 96.9 lakh to Rs 97.9 lakh (ex-showroom)

    BMW introduced the Pure Impulse Edition of the Z4 roadster in India. It features styling updates over the standard model, but more importantly, it is offered with a 6-speed manual transmission option, which is a first for the nameplate. Under the hood, the Z4 Pure Impulse Edition features the same 340 PS 3-litre turbo-petrol engine and also offers an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The Z4 Pure Impulse Edition can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds.
