Range Rover Evoque

The Range Rover Evoque is the most affordable SUV you can get with this nameplate and for a price tag of under Rs 65 lakh, you get the stance and performance of a premium SUV along with good features and off-road capabilities. The only thing you don’t get is the size.

At its price point, the Evoque poses as a more rugged and off-road capable rival to the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5, and BMW X3.

If you want the styling elements of Range Rover’s larger models but at a more affordable price, then the Evoque is the SUV you should consider. Even at a length of 4.37 metres, which is comparable to the size of Kia Seltos, the Evoque looks just a butch and just as imposing as its larger siblings.

The front features an upright face with cuts and curves to maintain the design language. The grille is fairly small but it merges neatly with the slim LED headlamps which further house sleek twin LED DRLs. The grille houses an off-set “Land Rover” badging and the bonnet lip is where you’ll see the “Range Rover” lettering.

The bottom half of the face has large air dams on the side, which have slim copper inserts, and a slim yet muscular bumper design with a skid plate.

In profile, you get flat panels with little to no cuts and creases. What grabs most attention are the buffy wheel arches which protrude outwards, helping with the muscular stance. You also get flush fitting door handles, an indented line running from the tail lamps to the front fender, and a copper design element in a gloss black housing under the ORVMs.

It sits on 19-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels which are offered in a dark grey shade.

At the back, you get a flat but chunky profile with a massive bumper, a skid plate, a roof mounted spoiler, and sleek LED tail lamps. The tail lamps are housed in a gloss black panel which also has the Range Rover lettering. Even at the back, there are some copper inserts on the bumper.  

The Range Rover Evoque is offered in 4 shades, all of which come with a black roof. The colour options are Fuji White, Santorini Black, Tribeca Blue, and Carpathian Grey.

Just like the exterior, the interior also gets different themes. You can either get it in a Cloud & Ebony shade with extended Windsor leather or you can get it in a Deep Garnet & Ebony shade with extended Windsor leather.

The dashboard has a simple layout with a flat design, a large touchscreen, slim AC vents, and a chunky steering wheel. You can also find a lot of gloss black elements, brushed aluminum inserts, and copper inserts inside the cabin.

There are soft touch materials on every touch point, and the leatherette seats are finished in a dual-tone theme.

In terms of features, it comes with an 11.4-inch touchscreen with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a digital driver’s display, a 14-way powered driver seat with two way manual headrest adjustment, dual-zone climate control, a wireless phone charger, heated and ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, a powered tail gate, and a panoramic sunroof.

The safety kit gets 6 airbags, electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat anchors, electronic parking brake, hill launch assist, hill descent control, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.

The Range Rover Evoque was crash tested in 2019 at EURO NCAP where it scored a 5-star crash test safety rating.
