The Kia Carens Clavis EV has been launched with prices ranging from Rs 17.99 lakh to Rs 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in three broad variants: HTK Plus, HTX, and HTX Plus. Besides, you get two battery pack choices – a 42 kWh and a 51.4 kWh; however, these are specific to certain trims. Let’s take a look at the things the base model of the Carens Clavis EV packs in.
Front

The Kia Carens Clavis EV features LED lighting elements right from its base HTK Plus variant. Upfront, you see no difference from its higher variants. It features a clean, closed-off fascia, along with a slim LED light bar between the angular LED DRLs. The 3-pod LED headlamps are set in a triangular enclosure, adding a sharp look. The bumper has a rugged look with black cladding and silver elements, and it also houses rectangular pixel-type LED fog lamps at the bottom.
Side

You can find black body cladding around the wheel arches and lower panels, giving it a slightly rugged look. The door handles and outside rear view mirrors (ORVMs) are finished in body colour. It rides on 16-inch all-black alloy wheels with aero covers, while the higher spec of the Clavis EV comes with larger 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels that look more premium.
Rear

At the back, the Carens Clavis EV features a sleek full-width LED light bar that connects the angular tail lamps on either side. The rear bumper gets thick black cladding with silver inserts, continuing the rugged theme seen on the front and sides.
Interior

Inside, you find a black and beige dashboard with black upholstery made of fabric and semi-leatherette. The higher variant of the Carens Clavis comes with leatherette seats and a Triton Navy and Beige cabin theme, which looks a little more premium.

The dashboard has a clean layout featuring a pair of connected screens and slim AC vents. The lower centre console is designed for practicality, with a front centre armrest with ample storage as well as an easy-to-access panel for AC and infotainment controls that can be swapped using a button.
The steering wheel is all black, unlike the dual-tone leatherette wrap found in the higher variants. That said, this variant misses out on the 64-colour ambient lighting and the panoramic sunroof.
Offered only in a seven-seater setup, the Clavis EV also ensures comfort in the second row with sunshades, two individual headrests, and a foldable centre armrest.
Features & Safety

The Carens Clavis HTK Plus comes equipped with features such as dual 12.25-inch touchscreens for infotainment and digital driver’s display, paddle shifters for adjusting the re-gen, cruise control, multi-drive mode, a 6-speaker sound system, and auto AC with rear vents.
Safety features include 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill start assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), all-wheel disc brakes and a rear parking camera.
Other features like an air purifier, ventilated front seats with powered adjustment for the driver side, a more premium 8-speaker Bose sound system, 64-colour ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof and vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging are reserved for the higher variants.
Powertrain Option
The Kia Carens Clavis EV HTK Plus comes equipped with the smaller 42 kWh battery pack only. The higher variants also get the choice of a bigger 51.4 kWh battery, which has a claimed range of up to 490 km.
The specifications of the Clavis EV HTK Plus are as below:

Price & Rivals
