    • Grand i10 Nios-based second-gen Xcent expected in early 2020.

    • Front fascia and interior likely to be borrowed from the Nios.

    • Could get dual-tone colour option like the Grand i10 Nios.

    • Expect features like an 8-inch touchscreen system, wireless phone charger, and more.

    • Hyundai is expected to price the next-gen Xcent between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 9 lakh.

Hyundai has been testing the next-gen Xcent for a while now. Recent spy shots hint at the possibility of a dual-tone exterior on the upcoming sub-4m sedan, just like its hatchback sibling. Currently, no other sedan in the segment offers dual-tone paint options. The upcoming 2020 Xcent will share design elements with the Nios, especially the front fascia.

Hyundai offers the petrol-powered Grand i10 Nios in two dual-tone options: Aqua Teal with black roof and Polar White with black roof. The Nios’ dual-tone variant attracts a premium of around Rs 30,000 over the regular version.

The latest spy shots reveal nothing with respect to its interior, but we expect Hyundai to offer a similar cabin like the one seen in its hatchback sibling. Hence, features like the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, auto climate control, wireless phone charger, rear AC vents, and more should make their way to the next-gen Xcent as well.

Under the hood, it will be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engines as offered on the Grand i10 Nios with BS6 compliance. The Korean carmaker will also offer both engines with an AMT gearbox along with the standard manual.

Hyundai, in all likelihood, could keep the current-gen model on sale exclusively for fleet operators, just like what Maruti does with the Dzire Tour. Expect the next-gen Xcent to be priced in the range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9 lakh. Expected to launch in early 2020, it will rival the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo,  Tata Tigor and Honda Amaze. The current-gen Xcent is priced between Rs 5.81 lakh and Rs 8.79 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
