Xcent 2020 Latest Update
The next-gen Hyundai Xcent will likely be based on the Grand i10 Nios as its predecessor was based on the second-gen Grand i10. It has been spied with similar front end redesign featuring the latest cascading grille, new headlights, new LED DRLs and new front bumper. The rear end also features new taillights, bootlid and bumper but it has not been spied in full yet.
Hyundai is expected to offer it with the same interior and features as the Grand i10 Nios, which has been shown to get a new dashboard layout. It now has a freestanding touchscreen infotainment display that is housed in an extension of the instrument cluster, which also gets a new MID. However, the new Xcent is also likely to miss out on Hyundai Blue Link connected car features.
In terms of powertrains, the 2020 Xcent will most likely be powered by BS6-compliant versions of the same 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engines that will power the Grand i10 Nios hatchback. The new Xcent will also get the new AMT options for both engines along with the 5-speed MT.
The new-gen Hyundai Xcent will continue competing against the likes of the Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor and Ford Aspire in the sub-4m sedan segment.
