2016 Toyota Innova Leaked Through Official Brochure
Before its reported reveal next month, the second generation 2016 Innova has been revealed through the leaked brochures. Toyota has updated the Innova from ground up, there’s not a single bit carried over from the decade old current gen model. Like the upcoming Fortuner, the Innova will also get a new engine. The leaked brochure is of the Indonesia spec second generation Innova. Toyota is expected to reveal it at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo.

Update: After the success of the popular MPV Innova, Toyota has unveiled the next-gen Innova dubbed as Innova Crysta. The vehicle has already been launched in Indonesia and will come as a refreshing change in the Indian market after the decade long run of the original one. The new gen Innova Crysta comes with a lot of cosmetic changes including a large hexagonal front grille, projector head-lights with LED running lamps and more premium interiors inside. Speaking of the design, Innova will get bolder with this model, the fascia is in-line with the Toyota’s latest models. There’s this large hexagonal grille and tons of chrome, the headlamps feature LED projectors with daytime running LEDs integrated with the grille similar to that of the Camry and Corolla. The indicators are located with the fog lamps. The cabin is brand new and borrows its design cues subtly with the Corolla/ Fortuner (2nd gen). The new Innova has increased manifold in terms of luxury, as seen on the Indonesian spec car, it will feature cabin ambient lighting, larger touchscreen infotainment system, all auto-down power windows and a lot more.
Speaking of India, Toyota used to offer Innova with a petrol engine but it was discontinued with the current update. So it is expected that the new Innova will also be offered solely with diesel option only. It is a new 2.4-liter turbo-intercooled direct-injection diesel. The engine generates 149 PS at 3,400 rpm and 342 Nm of torque when mated to a 5-speed manual and 360 Nm when mated to a 6-speed automatic. Globally, it will also feature a new 2.0-liter dual VVT-i petrol.
