    Volkswagen continues its sales growth in India

    Looks like Volkswagen will continue the festivities as it recorded a sale of 4,612 cars this year in November in India. The German auto maker had a successful time till date with sales scaling to 26,855 from January to November, 2010. Volkswagen registered a growth of more than 900 per cent over last year's sale of 2,638 units from January to November.

    Looks like Volkswagen will continue the festivities as it recorded a sale of 4,612 cars this year in November in India. The German auto maker had a successful time till date with sales scaling to 26,855 from January to November, 2010.

    Volkswagen registered a growth of more than 900 per cent over last year's sale of 2,638 units from January to November.

    Volkswagen has witnessed an accelerating demand for its cars, especially for the hatchback Volkswagen Polo and the premium sedan Volkswagen Vento. The Volkswagen group till date has sold 22,430 units of these car models.

    Volkswagen is the biggest automobile manufacturer of Europe and has an impressive portfolio from Fox to Phaeton sold in almost 150 countries across globe. Volkswagen in India rules the market with the premium sedans Volkswagen Jetta, Volkswagen Passat which is assembled in the Aurangabad manufacturing plant in India. The company also sells the mini luxury Volkswagen Beetle, the savvy SUV Volkswagen Touareg, the super luxurious Phaeton along with Volkswagen Polo and Volkswagen Vento. Volkswagen wishes to expand the brand and use the growing domestic market in its favour.

    Recently, Volkswagen had launched an ad campaign in which it is signifies Volkswagen Beetle as a perfect gift for marriage for a lifetime. The company in a righteous way has caught the sentiments of the Indians. The ad has a tag line of “fittingly expensive”and as per the research conducted by Volkswagen, the young Indians are brand conscious and spend a lot to maintain it. Weddings in India hold a great market and people tend to purchase expensive gifts to their acquaintances and to cater that market Volkswagen has come up with this unique idea.
