The Toyota Innova Hycross has been crash tested by Bharat NCAP, and it has scored a full five-star safety rating. The rating applies to all the petrol and strong-hybrid variants. Notably, it is the first MPV to be crash-tested under BNCAP norms, and it has secured impressive scores in both adult occupant and child occupant protection. The Innova Hycross secured full points in the side barrier test and close to the maximum score in the frontal crash test. In the frontal crash test, it provided ‘good’ protection to the driver’s head, neck, chest, thighs, knees, lower legs, and feet. The front passenger also received high protection, with the chest area rated as ‘adequate’.
In the side crash test, the MPV scored full points and showed ‘good’ protection for all key body areas, such as the head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis.

The Innova Hycross scored full points in both the dynamic crash tests and the child seat installation test. In the crash test, it provided maximum protection to both 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies in the front (8 out of 8 points) and side impact (4 out of 4 points) scenarios.
