Toyota Innova Crysta Bookings Open!

The Toyota Innova Crysta bookings have started at an initial amount of INR 40,000, in major cities of India. However, the MPV is expected to be launched in the month of May or June. When launched, the car will be competing against the upcoming vehicle Tata Hexa. 

The next generation of Innova was displayed at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo and Toyota has said that the car will be made in India with massive levels of localization. The Crysta will see as much as 98 percent of localisation, with the latest 2.4-litre engine also being produced in the country. This could result in a low price, but still that would be higher than the current Innova due to the level of equipment and new features available in.  

Before the Auto Expo, the car had made numerous appearances, courtesy to its Indonesian showcase, but the Expo gave us an opportunity to get over all the teasing spy shots. The hexagonal front grille with two larger bars merging into the aggressive projector headlamps. The bonnet tops off the look, with the additional muscle it gets. The sides, though, are quite simple with newly carved alloy wheels and an angled window towards the rear end.

The Innova Crysta, not only has raised the bar with the looks or the interiors or the new gadgetry for that matter; it promises to be safer indeed. The top of the line variant is expected to get 7-Airbags- while dual airbags, ABS and EBD can come as a standard feature across the variant lineup.  

As told before, the engine bay of Crysta will be housing the all new 149 PS 2.4-litre diesel beater with the torque rated at 342 Nm and shall be mated to a five-speed manual. That’s a massive leap over the current 2.5-litre one, which had a rather laid back 102 bhp of power. An automatic gearbox is also anticipated, but it is expected to be mated to a 2.8-litre diesel.
