Toyota Grand New Fortuner launched in Indonesia

PT TAM, a joint venture between Toyota Motor Corporation and PT Astra International, launched the Toyota Grand New Fortuner in South Jakarta. It was launched at a price of Rs. 22.5 Lakhs.

The new model of the 4x2 SUV is powered by 2.5LK-FTV VNT (Variable Nozzle Turbo) diesel engine instead of the previous 2KD-FTV engine. The new Fortuner churns out a power of 142bhp along with a torque of 343Nm, making this engine deliver 41% more power and 32% more torque, as compared to the previous one.

Commenting on the Fortuner, Johnny Darmawan, president director of PT TAM, said that the 4x2 SUV has experienced rapid growth, and has sold more than 10,000 cars within the first half of this year.

The Indian Fortuner might also see a facelift, coming Diwali. The Indian version of the SUV comes at a price of Rs. 20.79 Lakh for the base model and goes up till Rs. 21.93 Lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).

The Toyota Fortuner is powered by 2982cc 3.0-litre diesel engine which delivers 168bhp of maximum power and 343Nm of maximum torque. It can speed from 0-100kms in 14.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 176kmph.
