Toyota Camry might be manufactured in India

 World's largest car maker,Toyota announces that Toyota Camry might be manufatured in India. All according to the managing director of the company's Indian subsidiary. All this is going to help the Japanese car maker from running away from the import duties on all their cars which they import here. This very step is going to decrease the prices of various cars by nearly Rs21 lakh. With these price reduction the company may also compete with the bigger cars like the Mercedes Benz C Class and Skoda Superb all in the list of premium car segment. At present these two car companies has a market selling of nearly 8,000 car units per year. It is expected that if produced in the traditional Indian market it will be required to be stand against the cars like Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata and Skoda Laura. All these three cars will be made available in the executive car segment. It is a matter of consideration that nearly 25,000 cars are sold in the executive car segment.
  Toyota is also interested in launching sports utility vehicles in Indian market after a period of time. This new SUV model will come with somewhat called a completely-knocked-down (CKD) route. Earlier the year company has missed the targets of nearly 60,000 vehicles for the gone year 2008. The missed sales were nearly 14% and they were been able to sell nearly 51,803 cars only. At a temporary measure the company has cut over the production at its plant present in Bangalore. The production has been cut by 30% till by the end of march 2009. All it help in coping with the falling demands of the vehicle. At present company is feeling it important to increase the product portfolio in India by the launching of their various vehicles like Land Cruiser. Moreover in some interesting steps the company has also launched some of the modified version of their various vehicles like for the multi utility vehicle Innova, which is available with some changes inside and outside. Toyota is all ready to have the investments of nearly Rs3,200 crore in India.
