Nissan Might Roll out the Sylphy Sedan in Indian Shores
The budding car market of India has been in the hit list of a number of car makers and the Japanese auto giant Nissan Motors is one of them who is eyeing huge sales volumes from India. The company had proudly showcased the new Nissan Sylphy at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show which is already being sold in the car market of North America under the name Sentra. As per the announcement made by Nissan the Sylphy after being offered in the Chinese market will make its way to other major countries by 2012 and the number is expected to go up to 120 countries by the end of 2014.
The Indian shores have very good chances of being treated with the Nissan Sylphy if not in 2013 then by 2014 for sure. The Slyphy is the next-generation model replacing the Nissan Sentra completely; the changes rendered to this new car are minor tweaks on the inside as well as the outside. The front end of the car will have additional chrome setting on the front grille and a freshly designed bumper. The interiors of the car are graced with decorative panels of wood on the centre console. The wooden trimmings would not suit the American version of the Nissan Slyphy; this new car is going for sale in China in the summer of current year.
The Chinese version of the upcoming Sylphy is going to derive power from the 1.8-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine which is mated to the next generation XTRONIC Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The Indian version of the Sylphy is expected to be affixed with the k9k diesel engine which is capable of producing 108 PS of power and is coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Nissan Sylphy is the perfect entrant in the D-segment which is expected to rival the likes of segment dominator Chevrolet Cruze. The prices of Nissan Sylphy are anticipated to range from Rs. 14 lakh thus making Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla serious competitors.
