Grand i10 is doing wonders for the Korean manufacturer Hyundai, and now the company is all set to give a facelift to its flagship hatchback i20. Recently, a test mule of the car has been caught testing in Southern Europe. The spyshots shared by our friends at Autoevolution suggest that the i20 has received a complete makeover as it now gets a new enlarged front grille with sweptback headlight clusters and new fog lamps with a sportier front bumper, while the rear receives a new tailgate mounted spoiler, new vertical taillights and a redesigned C pillar. One can expect the vehicle to feature a new set of alloy wheels as seen in these images.

Recently launched Grand i10 has many first in class features, and we are expecting Next Gen i20 with even better features like front parking sensors, electric folding mirrors, keyless access, rear AC vents, touch-screen infotainment system and a reverse camera. These pictures suggest that the new i20 will also be a little bigger than the existing one but it will continue to be a sub-four meter to get the excise duty benefits. As far as the engine options are concerned the i20 will continue to get its power from 1.2-litre Kappa2 petrol and 1.4-liter diesel engine. However, there are possibilities of a new engine option Kappa 1.0 T-GDi with 120 bhp (using turbocharger intercooler), developed for use in Kia's sub-compact cars such as Rio can also be introduced into India. We are expecting the next gen i20 in India by 2014-end, and it is expected to battle it out with upcoming Honda Jazz.
