New Toyota Camry Launches at Rs. 23.8 Lakh
Camry, the word that is a synonym of Crown in the Japanese language, is all set to stand true to its name. The all new Toyota Camry launches today silencing a lot of critics with its newfound looks and upgraded engine at a price of Rs. 23.8 Lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi)for a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of delivering a power of 178.5bhp at 6000rpm and a torque of 233Nm at 4100 revs. The booking for the sedan starts at Rs. 50,000.

The drive of the Camry , with the DOHC and VVT-I technology under its hood, is very refined and power delivery is instantaneous which makes the sedan not just powerful but also very comfortable to drive. Further enhancing the ride quality are new suspensions that the new Camry gets.
On the looks of it, the new Camry looks a little bigger than previous version, especially when viewed from the side profile, though there are very small differences in the figures. The new Camry is 4825 in length, is 1825mm wide and has a height of 1480mm whereas the previous model had an overall length of 4815mm and 1820mm in width and the height of the car was 1480mm.
The 2012 Camry will be offered in White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic, Beige Metallic and Attitude Black.
The cabin of the new Toyota Camry has a sense of premium-ness with hand-stitched leather on the dashboard along with leather covering, faux-wood band running across the dashboard and telescopic steering with leather cover and wood finish on the top end and strip of chrome.
The plush interiors go a step further with electric adjustable front seats and rear seats that are as comfortable as a sofa with lots of leg space and high build quality, keeping in mind that Camrys are mostly chauffeur driven.
Toyota Camry has been present here for quite some time, though a successful model for Toyota but in comparison to its competitors and the segment on the whole, the response received has not been really encouraging. What makes it tough for the Toyota Camry is competition like Volkswagen Passat, Skoda Superb etc because with such competitors Camry will not just have to be good rather would have to deliver unmatched performance.
With this enhanced version of the 2012 Toyota Camry, let’s hope Toyota India sees a positive change.
