Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Coupe prototype
The Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Coupe prototype has surfaced at Ebay (Well, that’s not why it is being mentioned here). The car is a 1954 model which is speculated to be the 1955 Detroit Auto Show display car (probably) and has a rare NSL engine which isn’t often seen fitted in steel body SLs. The car is a good catch at USD 850,000, which is an unbelievable Rs. 4.7 crores when the amount is converted to INR.

The 300SL was conceived when a need for a sports car in the eminent line up was needed. It made its first appearance in popular racing tracks in 1955. The car attained a legendary status and is considered to be the most sought-after car for over 50 years now.
