The Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of the most popular hatchbacks in the country and has always appealed to enthusiasts. While we never got the Sport variant with more performance like a few international markets, Maruti has now launched a Limited Edition package to make the regular hatch look sportier than before.
The Limited Edition accessory package adds a gloss black body kit including a side skirt, front splitter, rear bumper body kit, and a spoiler. It also adds black garnish to the grille, tail lamps and fog lamp surround, along with body side moulding and door visors. The only interior change is the seat covers. Maruti is offering the Limited Edition option across all variants of the Swift for a fixed premium of Rs 24,990. The accessories are fitted at the dealership, so you can drive home a sportier-looking Swift, instead of making a beeline for the aftermarket shops.
No mechanical changes have been made to the Swift. It comes with the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 83PS and 113Nm. It gets the choice of a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The Swift is one of the least powerful options in this segment, especially with the launch of the 100PS Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Turbo. While the Limited Edition package would be popular this festive season, a more powerful variant of the Swift would also be appreciated.
The Swift is priced between Rs 5.19 lakh to Rs 8.02 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It rivals the likes of the Ford Figo, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Maruti Wagon R, and also the Renault Triber.
