Mahindra XUV700 AX3 Variant Discontinued; Now Available Only With A 3-Row Seating Layout

The Mahindra XUV700 was launched in India in two broad trims- MX and AX, with 5,6 and 7-seater options. Among these, the entry-level AX3 variant of the AX range has been discontinued by the carmaker which had a last recorded price ranging between Rs 16.39 lakh and Rs 18.59 lakh (ex-showroom). The AX range now starts with the AX5 Select variant, which is only available as a 7-seater option, priced from Rs 16.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
Moreover, all the 5-seater variants, which were last priced between Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 19.89 lakh (ex-showroom) have also been discontinued from the SUV’s lineup. This means that the MX, AX5 Select and AX5 trims are available only with 7 seats. The higher-spec AX7 and AX7 L, on the other hand, continue to be offered in both 6- and 7-seater configurations. Other than this, no other significant change has been made by the carmaker on the XUV700.
Mahindra XUV700: An Overview
The XUV700 gets a SUV-like design with LED headlights and C-shaped LED DRLs. It gets a black grille with silver slats and a bumper that houses LED fog lamps and a silver skid plate. In profile, it gets 18-inch alloy wheels and a black cladding that runs across the body making it look rugged. Unlike modern-day SUVs, it does not get connected LED tail lights, but wraparound units that look classy and give the XUV700 a mature look.
Inside, the Mahindra SUV gets a dual-tone black and ivory white theme which is also carried onto its seat upholstery. If you opt for the Ebony edition that is available in the AX7 and AX7L trims, the dashboard and seats flaunt an all-black look. The dashboard features integrated dual 10.25-inch displays and a butch-looking 3-spoke steering wheel. It also gets some faux wooden trims on the doors that make it look premium and upmarket.
In addition to the two screens, it features dual-zone auto AC, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker Sony sound system, ventilated front seats and a 6-way powered driver’s seat. Its safety suite includes up to 7 airbags (6 as standard), a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake and a Level-2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) suite.

After all these updates, the Mahindra XUV700 is now priced between Rs 14.49 lakh to Rs 25.74 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India) and it rivals the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus in India.
