After its launch in South Africa in September 2024, the Mahindra XUV 3XO has now been introduced in Australia. It is available in two variants in the market, AX5L and AX7L, and comes with the same 112 PS turbo-petrol engine as in India, paired with either a manual or an automatic transmission. Compared to the Indian version, the Australian-spec XUV 3XO features an all-black interior theme and does not get some of the exterior colour options. The entry-level Australia-spec Mahindra XUV 3XO is priced over Rs 5 lakh more than the base MX1 variant sold in India. However, it is important to note that the Australian lineup starts with the AX5L variant, which in India costs Rs 12.62 lakh, making it only Rs 55,000 cheaper than its Australian counterpart.

As for the top-spec AX7L variant, which is available in both markets, the price gap stands at Rs 94,000, with the Australian version being more expensive.

What’s Different?

While the exterior design of the Mahindra XUV 3XO remains identical in both markets, there are differences in the colour options offered for the Indian and Australian versions.

As seen in the table, the Indian-spec Mahindra XUV 3XO offers a wider range of colour options compared to the Australia-spec version.

Not only is there a difference in exterior colours, but the interior themes also vary between the two versions of the XUV 3XO. The India-spec model comes with an all-white cabin theme featuring white leatherette seat upholstery, while the Australia-spec version gets an all-black interior with black leatherette upholstery.

Another prime difference between the India-spec model and the Australian-spec model is that the latter gets only one turbo-petrol engine option. Here are the details:

What’s Similar?

The convenience and safety features on both versions of the Mahindra XUV 3XO are largely the same. They are equipped with dual 10.25-inch displays, a 7-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, dual-zone climate control with rear AC vents, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, and ventilated front seats.

On the safety front, both models offer six airbags, a 360-degree camera with a blind view monitor, electronic stability control with hill hold and descent control and traction control. They also come with 3-point seatbelts for all seats with reminders, all-wheel disc brakes, and Level 2 ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and lane keep assist.

It is important to note that both AX5L AX7L are equipped with ADAS, which is a base requirement for selling a car in the Australian market.
