The Hyundai Creta Electric, like the upcoming Kia Carens Clavis EV, also comes with a 51.4 kWh battery pack and offers a similar claimed range
Kia’s first EV offering, the Carens Clavis EV, is set to debut on July 15, 2025, and the carmaker has recently teased its design. The teaser offers a glimpse of both the exterior and interior of the electric version of this premium MPV. Alongside the teaser, Kia also confirmed details about its battery pack, which appears to be similar to that of the Hyundai Creta Electric. But will it also share the same powertrain options? Let us find out.
Kia Carens Clavis EV Powertrain
The Korean carmaker has till now revealed that the Kia Carens Clavis will get a 51.4 kWh battery pack option, with a claimed range of 490 km (MIDC Part 1+2).
Interestingly, the higher variants of the Hyundai Creta Electric also feature a similar battery setup with a similar claimed range. Let us take a closer look at the details.
Hyundai Creta Electric Powertrain
The Hyundai Creta Electric comes with two battery pack options, mated to a front-axle-mounted (FWD) electric motor. Here are the detailed specifications:

As seen in the table, the Hyundai Creta Electric gets the same 51.4 kWh battery pack as the Kia Carens Clavis EV. While its claimed range is slightly lower, the difference is not significant.
This suggests that the Carens Clavis EV could use the same 171 PS electric motor as the Creta EV. It is also possible that Kia may offer a smaller 42 kWh battery pack in lower variants. That said, we will have to wait for official confirmation to know for sure.

The interior layout of the Kia Carens Clavis EV will largely mirror that of the regular model, featuring the same 2-spoke steering wheel and dual 12.3-inch screens. To differentiate the EV, Kia will offer a black and white interior theme, similar to the lower variants of the ICE version. . The absence of a gear selector stalk gives the centre console a cleaner layout, while also freeing up space for a practical storage compartment with a retractable lid.
