Mahindra Thar Roxx AX7L Variant Gets An Updated Sound System, Gets 4-Channel Dolby Atmos Sound Setup Now

Mahindra has also said that it has increased production of the Thar Roxx to reduce its waiting periods

Good news for audiophiles who are on the lookout for the Mahindra Thar Roxx, as the top-spec AX7L variant with the 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system has been introduced with a 4-channel Dolby Atmos immersive audio setup. Notably, such a technology is already being offered by the carmaker in the more premium Mahindra BE 6 and Mahindra XEV 9e. Alongside the introduction of this feature, Mahindra has said that it has bumped up the Thar Roxx’s production to reduce the high waiting periods.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx’ 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system consists of 6 speakers, 2 tweeters and a subwoofer. This audio setup produces crisp and punchy sound, making drives enjoyable. It is now expected to become even better with the introduction of the Dolby Atmos surround sound system.

Notably, this is not the first time when the Thar Roxx has gotten immersive audio, as it was already offered with DTS sound staging in mid-spec variants.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Other Features

The Mahindra Thar Roxx features dual 10.25-inch displays (one for the infotainment and another for the instrumentation), a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, 6-way powered driver’s seat, auto AC with rear vents, keyless entry and a cooled glovebox.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Safety

In terms of safety, the Mahindra Thar Roxx gets 6 airbags (as standard), disc brakes on all wheels, an electronic parking brake with auto hold function, 360-degree camera and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It is also equipped with some advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features including lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control. Moreover, the Thar Roxx has been tested by Bharat NCAP in 2024, where it received a 5-star crash safety rating.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx comes with a turbo-petrol and a diesel engine option, the details of which are as follows:

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Price And Rivals

No changes have been made to the pricing of the Mahindra Thar Roxx with the update and the SUV continues to range between Rs 12.99 lakh and Rs 23.09 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). It rivals the 5-door Force Gurkha and the Maruti Jimny in India.
