The car will carry 12 inch additional length on the wheel base as compared to the highly popular baby Evoque version. This will offer an extended accommodation for passengers on the third row. One might as well make use of the additional space for cargo instead. With the new Range Rover Evoque price and dimensions, the BMW X5, Audi Q7 and Mercedes-Benz M Class could stand out to be the potential rivals in the segment.

The engine is also likely to be different from the outgoing compact Evoque version. Information points out to a 1.8 L turbo charged petrol engine to churn out a majestic 170 Bhp peak power output. A diesel engine might also be chipped in to satisfy the Indian car demands. The auto major might make use of the lightweight materials including the aluminium to result in higher fuel efficiency.

Furthermore, Land Rover is expected to develop four more cars on the Evoque platform out of the 40 new cars in the pipe-line for the next five years. Pricing could be an advantage while developing cars on the same platform. However, steep prices are on the cards as of now as the XL version will be developed at their UK division. Which means, the car will make it to the Indian shores as a CBU. A hybrid engine in the Evoque XL is also a possibility given the JLR’s expertise in the hybrid engine technology.
