Land Rover Defender LXV Limited Edition Launched
Land Rover is celebrating its 65th anniversary of technology and innovation. To celebrate, the company has launched a limited edition Defender, called the LXV. The Defender LXV (LXV stands for 65 in Roman numerals) is based on the 90" Hard Top model. This mean-machine is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine and 6-speed manual transmission, developing 120bhp at 3,500rpm and 360Nm of top torque at 2,000rpm.
The special edition Defender comes equipped with a 16-inch Sawtooth alloy wheels and has a Santorini Black or Fuji White with contrast Corris Grey roof, grille and headlights surrounds. The interiors of the LXV boast exclusive full leather seats with LXV embossed front headrests and unique orange contrast stitching on the seats, steering wheel and centre cubby compartment to complement exterior LXV decals. An optional union flag decal can be located on the rear of the vehicle.
The iconic Land Rover was first developed on April 30, 1948, making the brand 65 years old. More interestingly, the company is organising an exhibition of heritage vehicles at its first proving ground, Packington Estate. Over 130 iconic Land Rovers will participate the celebratory event at Packington House near Solihull. This house was used to manufacture the first Land Rover in 1947-48. The event will feature a number of iconic Land Rovers along with the current range consisting of Defender Electric and nine-speed Range Rover Evoque.
