Speaking of the aesthetic changes, it is the front fascia that went under the knife the most. The Japanese automaker has completely redesigned the front profile of the crossover, which now sits upright compared the previous version and comes with a larger grille and new headlamps. The sides remain largely unchanged, with the only update being the new machined alloys. Changes at the rear are subtle and the tail lamp cluster now comes with updated graphics and LED lighting.

Mechanically, in Europe, the S-Cross facelift comes with two brand new turbocharged petrol engines – 1.0-litre (111PS/170Nm) and 1.4-litre (140PS/220NM) Boosterjet – replacing the old 1.6-litre naturally aspirated unit. The 1.6-litre DDiS diesel (120PS/320Nm) continues to do its duty in the updated version as well. Adding in context to India, it remains to be seen whether the automaker will introduce the new Boosterjet engines with the S-Cross face-lift next year or not. However, Maruti will debut the 1.0-litre Boosterjet in the country soon with the Baleno RS. So, in all probability, the updated S-Cross – which doesn't come with a petrol engine as of now – might borrow the downsized turbocharged motor in India.
