Honda to Launch Amaze in Nepal by June 2013
Honda Car India has recently launched its much-anticipated first ever diesel car 'Amaze' in India. The mid-size sedan has been selling in huge numbers, and grabbed 22,000 bookings in three weeks, as the waiting period goes to 5-6 months. Now, the Japanese auto giant is all set to launch Amaze compact sedan in the Nepali Market. The first entry-level sedan from Honda is slated to debut in Nepal by June this year.
Lomas Manandhar, divisional manager at Honda Car Showroom, Dhobighat said that, “We’re very excited about the launch of this compact sedan in the Nepali market as it has already garnered a huge success in India and also as we have been receiving constant enquires regarding this car,”. He further said that “This car is well-received for its better performance and stylish looks”. Initially, the company will introduce only petrol version of the car, and is expected to be priced around Rs. 2.6 million (approx Rs. 16 lakh).
The petrol model of Amaze to be launched in Nepal will continue to be powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine that is capable of developing 87bhp at 6,000rpm and 109Nm of top torque at 4,500rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission, and it offers a fuel efficiency of 18kmpl. According to the report published on Himalayan Times, Made in India Honda Amaze will be launched in the Nepali market, which ultimately turns into high pricing.
The Amaze will be launched in three variants, which comes loaded with a number of standard and comfort features. The car also sports some of the features like power folding mirrors, special heat deflecting windshield and standard ABS across all variants.
