It is widely speculated that Honda will come out with diesel versions of its popular cars in India including Honda City and Honda Civc by next year. If company has to enhance our market share, having diesel-powered models is imperative. We are actively working on fuel-efficient and eco-friendly diesel engines. However, it will take its time.He pointed out that more than half the vehicles sold in Europe are diesel. The company is yet to decide the time line for the launch and which cars it will power. Jnaneswar Sen, vice president (marketing), Honda Siel Cars India, to a leading media group.

Honda Motors, which is the second largest car maker in the Japanese market, has suffered by lowering down sales in key markets like Europe and US and now company is now working hard to capitalize on the vast opportunity exists in the Indian market. Honda's sales in India will continue to grow simply because the market itself is one of the fastest growing in the world. Besides its existing cars, company's second small car that will hit the market by 2011 will bring incremental volumes, Mr Sen reportedly said.
