The participating Honda Civic 1.6 Turbo Petrol model is based on the Civic hatch that is present in the markets of Europe. The car has special aero package with extended front and rear along with a few more additional aerodynamic elements.

The Honda Civic that is tested is being driven by the WTCC Champion for the 2009, Gabriele Tarquini. Commenting on the car he said, the engine feels great and the looks are also appealing.

He also added that the testing has just started and this was just the first track test, therefore, there is much for them to work on before the car makes its debut in the Suzuka this year. Honda will enter 3 races of the 2012 WTCC with one car which will be driven by Tiago Monteiro.
