Honda Amaze Diesel to Launch in April, Says top Official
Ever Since the Japanese auto major, Honda announced to launch its first ever diesel vehicle, the Amaze in the country, it has been receiving a lot of appreciation not just from the Industry people, but from all the people who have always loved Honda's products. Now when most were just guessing about the launch plans of the Honda Amaze, company's Sr. vice-president for marketing and sales, Jnaneshwar Sen have disclosed that the car would launch in April. Mr. Sen revealed it while speaking about the company's future plans to Financial Chronicle.

Mr. Sen also spoke about the company's flagship sedan, Honda City, which despite not-so-good market conditions put up a great show in January 2013 and regained it second position in the mid-sized sedan segment. Honda Brio too has been constantly doing great in terms of sales for the company, and now the company expects 30 per cent growth in the next financial year, which will also inspect the launch of much awaited Honda Amaze.
Speaking about the company's decade old product Honda City, Jnaneshwar Sen said, "Honda City caters to the petrol segment and has dominated it with a huge following. Since its launch more than a decade ago, it has been a runaway success in the country and has reformed the sedan segment both in terms of design and performance," He further adds, "A new diesel engine will be introduced in the new model Honda Amaze to be launched in April 2013."
"The newly developed iDTEC engine belongs to the new generation powertrain technology Earth Dreams Technology that realises both excellent driving performance and fuel economy at a high level. Amaze will be the first car from Honda to sport this new diesel engine. We feel that the contemporary style of Amaze and all the core values of Honda (durability, quality and reliability) will appeal to the growing base of entry level sedan customers," adds Sen
Speaking about the company's aim to record a 30 per cent growth, he says "We expect to close this financial year with a healthy growth of more than 30 per cent. Our focus this year will be the launch of new model Amaze which will be our most important launch this year as it will mark our entry into diesel segment,"
And like we reported earlier, the new Amaze will sport both the diesel and petrol engine options. While the petrol engine is the similar 1.2-litre petrol mill that also powers the Brio hatch, the diesel version will sport the 1.5-litre i-DTEC turbo diesel engine, which is expected to deliver the impressive mileage of 24-25kmpl.
