Ford to produce pick-up trucks in India
The President and Managing Director of the Automaker Ford India, Michael Boneham, has confirmed that the company is mulling over to foray into commercial Vehicle Segment. Ford is to bring up highly useful 5 Tonne pick up trucks from its Chennai facility, says Nigel E Wark, Executive Director, Marketing Sales and Service, Ford India. The Chennai facility is capable of producing 2000,000 passengers cars and 250,000 engines every year. Due to the excise import duty of 107%, it made no economic sense for Ford to import pick-ups from Thailand said Boneham.

The Production of the Vehicle for Indian and Exports market's will be facilities at Talegoan near Pune and Halol in Gujrat.
