Besides, the side has been reworked well with all new alloys that complement the overall looks of the car. The rear bumper of the Fiat Grande Punto has also been reworked. Notably, Fiat sold over 1,060 Fiat Punto cars India a month in the year 2010-11. Just as the exteriors, the interiors have also been changed for good. The interior are much trendier and looks more recent than the old fashioned interiors of the present Fiat Punto.

The dashboard, gear lever and the dial, clusters will all be available in new looks. The only thing that the new Fiat Punto carried from the existing one is the steering wheel. Also, it is expected that the present makeover would be restricted to interior and exteriors and there would be no change in the engine and transmission. Thus the new Fiat Punto would carry the same 1.2L petrol and 1.3L diesel engines. It is hoped that, once Fiat rolls out the new Fiat Punto, it would surely be the much sought after car compared to Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo, Maruti Swift which are performing well on car sales in India.

The Punto should have the option for the 1.4 liter turbo engine.
