Datsun Go to go on sale by March 2014

Datsun has officially announced that its first car, Datsun Go will go on sale in India from March 2014. The company will launch the Go hatchback at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, where Go+ MPV and a new concept car will be unveiled as well.

Datsun Go

Datsun will start production at the Renault-Nissan JV's Chennai manufacturing unit on the 4th of February. The company would also present two demo Go hatchbacks with accessories at the event. Moreover, the Go will be showcased in all available shades.

Datsun Go is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that also does duty to the Micra. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. This hatchback comes equipped with Mobile Docking system to connect smartphones to the vehicle.

The company has also announced the world premiere of a concept car at the auto show. If media reports to be believed than this would be the Datsun's smallest car to compete well against the Alto competitor.
