Citroen C3 Now Gets A CNG Option, Priced From Rs 7.16 Lakh

The Citroen C3 has become the French carmaker’s first car in India to get a CNG option. However, there’s a catch. The CNG kit will not be included from the factory and will be retrofitted at Citroen dealerships. It is priced at Rs 93,000 over the petrol variants price and will be offered with the naturally aspirated variants only. Here are the prices of the hatchback with the CNG kit compared to the regular variants:

Notably, the CNG kit includes a 55-litre tank and comes with a standard warranty of 3 years/1 lakh km (whichever is first). Citroen claims a range of up to 200 km with the CNG option with a claimed fuel efficiency of 28.1 km/kg. To add to the user’s convenience, the CNG filling nozzle will be placed beside the petrol-filling port. Citroen says that the CNG variants will have retuned suspension to counter the added CNG tank weight in the hatchback.

The CNG option is only available with the Naturally-aspirated petrol-MT combination. While the performance numbers of the CNG variants are yet to be revealed, the power and torque figures are expected to be slightly lower compared to the petrol variants as is typical with CNG-powered cars.

Features And Safety
The feature suite of the Citroen C3 has not been altered with the CNG option. The Citroen hatchback continues to come with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, auto AC, remote locking/unlocking and a height-adjustable driver’s seat.
On the safety front, it is equipped with up to six airbags (2 airbags as standard), electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill hold assist and a rear parking camera.
