BYD Atto 3 Electric SUV Launch Date Announced

Update (11/10/2022): BYD has unveiled the Atto 3 electric vehicle in India. It gets a 60.48kWh battery pack and can cover a range of 521km.

The launch date for the BYD Atto 3 has been set for October 11, just in time for the festive season. It will be the newest entrant to the premium compact electric SUV segment.
The Atto 3 is already on sale in global markets and will be BYD’s second offering in India following the E6. While the India-spec model’s details are yet to be announced, we can expect to get either or both of the EV’s two battery pack options - 50kWh and 60kWh.
The smaller battery has a WLTP-rated range of 345km while the larger one promises 420km. There is only one electric motor which produces 204PS and 310Nm powering the car and its outputs are more than what its closest rivals have to offer.
Based on the global-specification model, the Atto 3 will be a well-equipped SUV. In its best form, this EV comes with a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen, wireless charging and seven airbags. As spied, the India-spec model will come with a panoramic sunroof and ADAS technology.
The Atto 3 is one of BYD’s newest offerings, underpinned by the brand’s latest EV architecture. It will be locally assembled for a competitive price tag. Assuming it is offered in a single, fully loaded variant, the Atto 3 is likely to be priced from Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be a newer and more premium rival to the likes of the Hyundai Kona Electric and MG ZS EV.
