Audi A7 to take the Indian route next year
In the coming year, Audi India is planning to launch its new model Audi A7 in the Indian market. At present, Audi is the third largest player in the luxury car segment dragging Mercedes and BMW India behind. Last month, Audi unveiled the Audi A7 model but commercially, the car will be available only in the mid of 2011. The new model is expected to have the price tag of Rs. 65 lakh. Michael Perschke, Audi India Head commented that they are looking very seriously for the A7. They will do a market research and evaluate its demand in the country.

Audi India is also going through its expansion activity. The company plans to take over Mercedes and BMW by 2015. The company is also increasing its production capacity to 3000 units next year. Audi is also getting ready to venture into the used-car business. The company has already got its pre-owned car business in Europe which is run under the brand name of ‘Audi Plus.’ Perschke commented that seeing the demand that the company has for its products, a second shift will have to be started at company’s plant. The company’s production from the plant will be exceeding 3,000 units next year.
