BMW has taken the covers off its new flagship, the sixth-generation 7 Series. As expected, the new BMW 7 Series has lost significant amount of weight (130 kgs of it) and gained many features. The overall shape hasn’t been tampered with but the new 7 looks more modern and updated with the latest family design. Focus has been given to lightweight design, powertrains, chassis, operating systems, intelligent connectivity and interior ambience. Key innovations include carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) in the body structure, new generation engines, the plug-in hybrid system in the new BMW 740e, the Executive Drive Pro active chassis system, the Driving Experience Control switch with ADAPTIVE mode and BMW Laserlight.

The sixth gen BMW 7 Series will be the first car to feature an Active Kidney Grille including visible air flap control while the headlight units now connect to the grille.
