Out of the things listed, the Harrier EV gets seven pieces of equipment which is first for any Tata car
The Tata Harrier EV is the carmaker’s new flagship electric SUV, launched at an introductory price of Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom). While it looks similar to its combustion-fuelled counterpart, the electric Harrier comes equipped with several additional things. Here's a detailed list:
All-wheel Drive
The Tata Harrier EV is the first Tata EV to come with an all-wheel drive train along with a dual-motor setup. The two motors generate a combined output of up to 396 PS and 504 Nm.
14.5-inch Infotainment
The Tata Harrier EV comes with a larger 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system that uses Samsung QLED technology, which offers better clarity. In comparison, the regular Harrier has a 12.3-inch infotainment screen.
Summon Mode
The Summon Mode functionality lets the Tata Harrier EV move forward or backward on its own using the key fob. It’s useful for getting the car in or out of your garage or parking spots. This is a first-time feature for any Tata car.
Auto-park Assist
The Tata Harrier EV is also capable of parking itself without the driver’s input to the steering, brake or accelerator. This makes parking easy, especially in tight spaces. It is another first-time feature for any Tata offering.
Six Multi-terrain Modes
The Harrier EV gets an upgrade in its multi-terrain modes over the Harrier ICE. It has six different modes including Normal, Mud Ruts, Rock Crawl, Sand, Snow/Grass, and a Custom mode. On the other hand, the Harrier ICE gets just three: Normal, Rough and Wet.
Digital IRVM With Dashcam
The Harrier EV’s inside rear-view mirror (IRVM) turns into a digital screen by showing the rear camera feed, giving a clearer view of what’s behind the car. It also has a built-in dashcam integrated with the IRVM for added safety.
Transparent Mode
The Tata Harrier EV’s 360-degree camera not only shows a full view around the car but can also display what’s underneath the car’s bonnet. This helps you spot big obstacles more easily, which will come in handy particularly during off-roading. The regular Harrier also gets a 360-degree camera, but it doesn’t have this Transparent mode.
Boss Mode For Front Co-passenger Seat
Both the Harrier EV and the diesel Harrier get power-adjustable front seats. But only the Harrier EV offers ‘Boss Mode’ for the front passenger seat, which lets the rear passenger slide it forward with the press of a button to get extra legroom.
Dolby Atmos Surround Sound System
Both the Harrier EV and Harrier ICE come with a 10-speaker JBL sound system. The Harrier EV supports Dolby Atmos surround sound, which gives a richer and more immersive audio experience inside the cabin.
Boost Mode
The Harrier EV gets a boost mode which gives an added surge of power helping it do 0-100 kmph in 6.3 seconds. This will be quite useful while quick overtaking. The Harrier ICE misses out on this functionality.
Multi-link Rear Suspension
The Harrier EV comes with a multi-link rear suspension, which helps improve ride comfort and handling. It makes the SUV more stable around corners and smoother over rough roads compared to the standard suspension setup.
BONUS - V2L & V2V
The Harrier EV supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging. It can power small electronic devices or even charge another EV using the car’s battery. This is an electric-only feature, so the regular Harrier with a diesel engine does not have it.
Price & Rivals
The Tata Harrier EV is priced at Rs 21.49 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). The complete price list for the Tata Harrier EV is not out yet. It competes with the Mahindra XEV 9e and is an alternative to the BYD Atto 3.
