While the facelifted Jeep Compass is due to be launched on January 27, the model has already been revealed to the public. While we wait for the prices and the detailed brochure, certain variant-wise details for the 2021 Compass have been leaked online.

Based on the document, the facelifted Compass will be offered in five trims - Sports, Longitude, Limited, Limited (O), and S (new). The Longitude Plus variant seems to have been left out, and the facelifted Trailhawk is due to be launched soon after. Some of the features of the new Compass’ variants are as follows:

    Sports

This trim gets dual front airbags, rear parking camera, rollover mitigation, LED reflector headlamps, an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 3.5-inch multi-information display, idle start-stop, traction control, 17-inch alloy wheels, black fabric interiors, and electronic parking brake (for the automatic variant).

    Longitude

In addition to the Sports' features, this trim packs roof rails, 6-speakers, 7.0-inch TFT display in the instrument cluster, push-button engine start, and grey interiors.

    Limited

The facelifted Compass's mid-spec variant gets the following features over the Longitude variant -- dual-tone cabin, 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, six airbags, electrochromic inside rearview mirror, auto-hold (automatic), hill descent control (4x4 only), and 18-inch alloy wheels.

    Limited (O)

This is the one-below-top-spec variant of the new Compass. Limited (O) adds extra features like a dual panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, and the new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

    S

Jeep seems to be positioning the S variant as the Compass's all-new top-spec variant. The extra features offered on the S -- over the Limited (O) -- are a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated and power-adjustable front seats, tyre pressure monitoring system, Alpine 9-speaker system, wireless charging, black leather upholstery, 360-degree camera, and LED projectors.

The facelifted Jeep Compass will be offered with the same 1.4-litre turbo-petrol (163PS/250Nm) and 2.0-litre diesel engines (170PS/350Nm). Both get a 6-speed manual as standard; while the petrol gets the option of a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, the diesel gets the choice of a 9-speed automatic. The 4x4 drivetrain will remain limited to the diesel variants.

Jeep is expected to price the 2021 Compass between Rs 16.5 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to rival the likes of Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Hyundai Tucson, and the Volkswagen T-Roc.
