    The lack of Honda Brio diesel variant is nevertheless expected to impact the Honda Brio sales as all its rivals in the sector are offered with a diesel engine except for the Hyundai i10. Honda India has recently launched its cheapest small car Honda Brio in the country at a price range of Rs 3.5 – Rs 5.1 lakhs. The Honda Brio is launched as a petrol variant in the country, however with the strategically placed Honda Brio price; the small car is expected to bring in profits for the company. The Honda Brio is expected to strongly contend against its rivals like Hyundai i10, Maruti Swift, Ford Figo, Chevrolet Beat, Toyota Etios Liva, Maruti Wagon R and Skoda Fabia in the hatchback category.

    Honda India has targeted to enhance its presence in the country with the launch of Honda Brio in the hatchback segment, which comprises of 70% of the car market.  The Honda Brio price for the base variant is placed at around Rs 3.5 lakhs, which is significantly lower than the Maruti Swift price of Rs 4.22 lakhs. Seki Inaba of Honda India had reported that the company has taken necessary steps to bring down the cost of Honda Brio as their main target is to introduce the cheapest car in the country, observing the current demand for the low-cost models in India.
