Ford KA Urban Warrior Concept: The Rugged Aspire We Want
Based on the Aspire facelift, the Ka Urban Warrior gets body cladding and faux skid plates from the Freestyle
Ford has released a video of the upcoming Ka Urban Warrior concept sedan which is set to debut in November at the 2018 Sao Paulo International Motor Show. The Ka Urban Warrior is an adventure-styled version of the Ford Aspire facelift with rugged bits borrowed from the Freestyle, both of which were launched in India this year. However, it's worth noting that the Brazil-spec Ford Ka (Aspire is known as the Ka sedan in Brazil) is longer than four metres.

Ford’s latest video shows a Brazil-spec Aspire facelift equipped with front and rear faux skid plates, alloy wheels and body cladding from the Freestyle. These changes are expected to give the cross-style sedan a wider track as well as a higher ground clearance like the Freestyle. The India-spec Aspire facelift has a ground clearance of 174mm.

The interiors are similar to the Freestyle and Aspire facelift that we have in India and features the 6.5-inch SYNC 3 touchscreen unit as well. However, it appears to be equipped with leatherette seats instead of the fabric ones that we get in India. The Brazil-spec Ka is powered by a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder Dragon series petrol engine. This engine can also be found in the EcoSport and the petrol-automatic variant of the Aspire sold in India.

We think Ford should bring the Ka Urban Warrior to India as it blends the usability of the Aspire with the crossover credentials of the Freestyle to make for a very compelling package. If launched, we expect it to be priced at a slight premium over the Freestyle, which is priced from 5.23 lakh to 7.93 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Currently, Volvo is the only other manufacturer to offer a cross-styled sedan - the S60 Cross Country - in the country. It is priced at Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom).
