Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to reveal its micro SUV, KUV100. If everything goes as per the plan, the car is expected to be launched on January 15, 2016. The bookings of the car are already open and can be done by making a payment of Rs. 10,000.

The most interesting part about the to-be-launched car is the engine it comes with. Mahindra is known for making rugged SUVs which run on diesel. KUV100 is powered by a new family of engines introduced by Mahindra known as mFALCON.The series comprises of six engines out of which the micro SUV gets a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.2-litre diesel. While the petrol mill can produce a maximum power of 82 bhp with a torque of 114 Nm, the diesel powerhouse generates 77 bhp of power with 190 Nm of torque. Through KUV100, Mahindra will be venturing into the league of petrol engine cars. Thus, the public response to it remains all the more important for the automaker. What KUV100 Means to Mahindra's Portfolio This move is more important at this time as the company took a hit from the recent ruling of Supreme Court. As far as the reduction in emissions by diesel engines is concerned, the progress in recent years has been substantial. But for some or the other reason, they have received a bad name in the world of environmentalists. While the Supreme Court placed a ban on the registration of diesel cars which possess an engine of capacity 2,000cc or more in Delhi, KUV100 will rejuvenate the Indian carmaker’s lineup. Mahindra is working to diversify its portfolio for past few years. It also made a tie up with Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors a few days back to promote electric vehicles.
