Volvo India, is continuing the celebration by launching Volvo XC60 in India.

According to the Industry sources, Volvo Auto India, would be launching the all new stylish SUV Volvo XC60 on 24th of November'2010. The premium luxury sports vehicle will be loaded with unparalleled features which will include excellent performance and futuristic technology. The new sports vehicle will be based on Scandinavian design which offers, mass production in low cost, proper functionality and simplistic design.

Since 80 years, Volvo, a well established name in the global auto industry, has been manufacturing technological wonders and safest machines. The product range the company offers includes light and heavy locomotives which have been know for luxury and comfort.

The new SUV which will be launched in the end of this month will be another exemplar of the technology excellence at par and abundant luxury which it will offer. The price tag of the premium SUV is not announced officially. With the launch of the new car the company will cement its position in the auto industry.

Paul de Voijs, Managing Director, Volvo India, said that, Volvo XC60 has been highly appreciated worldwide since the time it was unveiled. The SUV is admired for its new age style, driving luxury and sophisticated technology.

In India, Volvo is a well known brand in the country which currently has two models in the premium car segment, the stylish SUV Volvo XC90 and the sedan Volvo S80.

The Volvo S80, is a premium sedan which comes in three variants, the base model is 3.2 liter petrol engine with 6 cylinders, front wheel drive which can churn a power of 238 Ps at 6,200 rpm and offer a torque of 320 Nm at 3200 rpm.

The sedan Volvo S80 AWD has a V8, an all wheel drive 315 hp generating, 8 cylinders petrol engine. The luxury sedan produces power of 315 Ps at 5950 rpm and a torque of 440 Nm.

Volvo S80 D5 comes with 2400 cc, D5 205 hp, 5 cylinder turbo charge diesel engine with front wheel drive. The luxury sedan is not a delicate baby and can churn a power of 205 Ps at 4000 rpm and 420 Nm torque at 1500-3250 rpm making it an excellent fuel efficient car.

The second run from Volvo on the Indian terrain is Volvo XC90 that comes in three engines- 3.2 AWD, V8 AWD and D5 AWD. The 3.2 AWD has a 3192 cc, 6 cylinders petrol engine with DOHC valve configuration that helps in making it a fuel efficient drive. The 3.2 AWD petrol engine comes with six speed Geartronic Transmission. V8 AWD, the petro engine has capacity of 4414 cc with 8 cylinders which offers clear emission. The D5 AWD, having a 2400 cc V5 turbo charge diesel engine packed with CRDI ensures excellent fuel efficiency and better on road performance.
