Vietnamese carmaker VinFast has filed a design patent in India for its upcoming small EV, the Minio Green. If launched, this 3-door compact city EV will sit in the same space as the existing MG Comet EV and could become one of the most affordable electric cars in the country. Here’s everything you should know about it.
VinFast Minio Green: What To Expect?
The design patent images reveal a boxy profile, although with rounded edges. Besides this, it also gets 13-inch steel wheels that look basic but do not look out of place because of the black finish.

The car is expected to be a four-seater and will likely feature a minimal cabin layout with a black and blue interior theme, a driver’s display, a 4-way powered driver’s seat, a 2-speaker sound system and connected car tech.
In terms of specifications, the Minio Green comes with a 14.7kWh battery pack paired with a rear motor setup which will deliver 27 PS and 65 Nm. It has a claimed top speed of 80 kmph and a range of 170 km on a single charge. The Minio Green will also support 12kW AC charging.
VinFast Minio Green: Expected Rivals

So far, the MG Comet EV hasn’t had any direct competition. But once launched, the VinFast Minio Green will go up against it as a proper rival. The price of the Minio Green is not known yet, while the Comet EV is currently priced between Rs 4.99 lakh and Rs 7.63 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India), along with an extra battery rental fee of Rs 3.1 per km.
