Its design is fresh and youthful, thanks to clean surfaces and its coupe-like profile. Other design elements consist of a typical EV-like closed-off grille that is flanked by the headlight clusters, which house the LED projector units. You can also notice the V-shaped LED DRLs that run into the bonnet, which is a smart indication of its logo.

From the sides, you can notice its short rear overhang, and the sloping roofline becomes more prominent. It gets chunky black cladding that runs all around the SUV’s exterior, including the wheel arches. Other key characteristics include aerodynamically designed dual-tone alloy wheels and a sharp shoulder line, which also helps in improving its aerodynamics.

It gets a variety of colourways, of which the bright shades especially suit the VF6 SUV well. While it does grab attention, it doesn’t have the typical butch appeal you may otherwise expect from an SUV.

The rear profile has multiple cuts and creases along with a light bar that mimics the design of the front LED DRLs. Other points of attraction at the back include a roof-integrated spoiler, turn indicators placed in the bumper, and the ‘VF6’ moniker on the tailgate.

The VF6 features a minimalist and tech-focused cabin, and the international-spec model is offered with a choice of two interior themes depending on the variant chosen. The two options are either an all-black interior or a Mocha brown and black dual-tone theme. VinFast has provided it with soft-touch material all across the interior to enhance the overall premiumness inside the cabin.

It comes with a 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with integrated controls and a button-operated gear selector.

The SUV features a flat floor at the back, which enhances the rear seat comfort, thus making it a decent 5-seater offering.

Two 6-foot adults can easily sit one behind the other and have good headroom at the rear despite its sloping roofline.

Features

The VF6 comes with a centrally mounted 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with integrated Google apps and a voice assistant. VinFast has not equipped it with a conventional instrument cluster, thereby relaying all the vehicle and drive-related information via the main central display.

VinFast has also provided it with a large but fixed panoramic glass roof as seen on the Volvo C40 Recharge. Although we didn’t face any issues with heat insulation during our time with it, we believe the carmaker should have given it a sunshade to block sunlight completely.

Other features on board include an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, an auto-dimming IRVM (inside rear view mirror), and ambient lighting. The VF6 also supports over-the-air (OTA) updates and connected car technology. The SUV also comes with keyless entry, push-button start/stop, and remote functions via smartphone.

As part of its safety tech, the VF6 gets rain-sensing wipers, a 360-degree camera, up to 7 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and front and rear parking sensors. The compact electric SUV also gets Level-2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and forward collision warning.

The VinFast VF6 has been crash tested by Bharat NCAP. It has passed the test with a full 5-star safety rating for both Adult and Child Occupant Protection. 

The VF6 has 423 litres of boot space on offer, although with all seats up. It can be expanded further by folding down the rear seats.

Its flat loading lip and wide boot opening make it practical for daily use as well as occasional outstation journeys.

VinFast VF6 is available in three variants in India, but with just one battery pack and the same single front-mounted electric motor. Here’s a look at its technical specifications:

The electric SUV can go from 0 to 100 kmph in nine seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 175 kmph.

The India-spec VinFast VF6 is offered in three broad trim levels: Earth, Wind and Wind Infinity. Prices begin at Rs 16.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
