  • The Tigor EV for private buyers to be launched soon after the unveiling.

  • It is expected to use the Nexon EV’s 30.2kWh battery pack.

  • Likely to feature a touchscreen infotainment system, regenerative braking, drive modes and a semi-digital instrument cluster.

  • Could be priced around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata has put out a teaser of the more powerful Tigor EV confirming the unveil on August 18. It will be available for private buyers now with the Nexon EV’s Ziptron powertrain.

Recently, Tata launched the X-Pres T, essentially the facelifted Tigor EV for commercial buyers. The upcoming EV is likely to use the Nexon EV’s 30.2kWh battery pack and around 100PS electric motor.

The Nexon EV offers an ARAI-claimed range of 312 kilometres, which could be the same for the Tigor EV. The DC fast charging takes an hour to charge the Nexon EV up to 80 percent and an AC charger takes 8 hours for the full charge.

It could feature a touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, semi-digital instrument cluster, a rear parking camera, dual front airbags, regenerative braking and drive modes.

We are expecting the launch to happen in the coming weeks, and it should be priced around Rs 10 lakh. While it faces no competition now, it will soon rival the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Wagon R EV and Mahindra KUV100 EV.
